Branson Can't Catch Up To Pacific Southwest
Branson watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 10-2 loss to Pacific Southwest on Monday.
The Branson struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Pacific Southwest, giving up ten runs.
Pacific Southwest got things started in the first inning when Christian Mendez homered on a 1-0 count, scoring three runs.
Pacific Southwest scored five runs in the fourth inning. Pacific Southwest's big inning was driven by walks by Gilbert Garcia and Bryson Villalpando, a single by Mendez, and a double by Christian Wittwer.
Nicholas Johnson got the start for Pacific Southwest. He surrendered two runs on two hits over three innings, striking out one and walking zero.
Hunter Jones was on the pitcher's mound for Branson. He surrendered eight runs on four hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out six. Wyatt Vincent threw two and a third innings out of the bullpen.
Branson smacked one home run on the day. Braiden LaMontagne had a four bagger in the first inning.
LaMontagne and Garretson Cook all had one hit to lead Branson.
Pacific Southwest tallied eight hits in the game. Noah Gonzales and Mendez each collected multiple hits for Pacific Southwest.
